Spring is well and truly in the air over here! πŸ˜€ It’s exciting to see all the flowers coming out and the blossoms appearing! Our garden is full of soooo much colour and splendour!! God is such an amazing designer!! πŸ˜€

Here’s a couple of pictures one of my siblings took recently!

Aren’t they amazing colours!? πŸ˜€ And those are just two of the many amazing blooms!

Earlier this week, my brothers found a little mud nest above our kitchen window–complete with baby birds! And though the birds are swallows (not sparrows), it got me thinking about an excerpt from my novel! So I thought I’d share it with you. πŸ˜€

Not the actual nest, but it looks very similar! πŸ˜€

Jed blew out a puff of air. β€œA long time ago God taught me something, Jayne. He made me realise that He was bigger than my problems and far stronger than all my weaknesses.” He brushed a hand across his face. β€œAre not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” He looked her full in the face with tears glistening in his eyes. β€œFear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.”

Chapter 10, Jayne’s Endeavour

Which then got me to thinking about a hymn along the same lines . . . “His Eye Is on the Sparrow.” πŸ˜›

β€œLet not your heart be troubled,” His tender word I hear,
And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears;
Though by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.”

Civilla D. Martin

It’s so comforting to know that God watches over us every moment of every day! What’s a hymn or song that you find encouraging? πŸ˜€

  1. It’s so strange to think y’all are going into spring, since it’s just starting to really feel like fall here! I LOVE baby birds! Last year we had a kingbird nest on our porch and she raised two sets of eggs; it was so sweet!
    Ooh, I find a lot of songs encouraging– “Greater” by MercyMe, and for a hymn “Be Still my Soul.”

      I love that song! Isn’t it amazing how God uses His creation to remind us of His promises? Thank you so much for sharing for thoughts. It’s Fall here in Texas, U.S.A. but His wonders are still on display.

      1. I love it too! It’s certainly got encouraging lyrics!! πŸ˜€ We serve such a compassionate God. It always amazes me, too, how God weaves so many of His ways and truths into creation so that we can see and understand them! Autumn is my favourite month and it certainly has a lot of beauty! πŸ˜€

    2. Haha! Yeah it is strange that it’s a totally different season in other parts of the world! πŸ˜€ But I guess I’m kinda used to it now as I know/have met several Americans, follow American blogs, and even have music lessons with Americans. πŸ˜› Oh! That’s lovely! I had to look up what a kingbird was, because I’d never heard of them! I’m familiar with “Be Still My Soul”, but I don’t think I’ve listened to the other one. πŸ™‚

  2. Amen…that’s one of my favorite passages!

    1. πŸ˜€ We serve such a loving, faithful, and merciful God!!

  3. I love the changing seasons, there is such a fresh feel in the air! And talking about themes of nature and creation, the hymn How Great Thou Art really speaks to me. Also this past year a song titled A Prayer in Trial by Forever Be Sure Music has been SO encouraging to me.

    1. Absolutely!! You’re right–“How Great Thou Art” is definitely a creation-themed hymn! β™« “When through the woods and forest glades I wander, I hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees. When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur and hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze . . .” β™« Oh! I LOVE the music by Forever Be Sure. πŸ˜€ I found “A Prayer in Trial” and “Even There” encouraging myself last year when I was going through a difficult season. πŸ™‚ And “Every Little Blessing,” “I Am Listening,” and “Give Me Eyes That See” are some of my favourites of their songs!! πŸ˜€

      1. I will have to look up several of those titles you mentioned, but “Even There” is my other top favorite from FBS so far. Their music is so uplifting!

        1. πŸ˜€ Sounds like we enjoy the same songs! I agree πŸ˜€
