Our Hiding Place (Seven Days of Hope!)

So today I’m excited to be a part of the Seven Days of Hope Blog Tour!! Yep, you guessed it. 😉 For seven days myself and thirteen other bloggers are sharing posts full of hope. 😀 And today is my turn to share (along with Anna Grace)!

As followers of the one true God–the God of Israel–we have every reason to be full of hope! It’s something to give thanks for and rejoice about! And that’s why I’m excited to be a part of this lovely blog tour.

I pray this post is full of true HOPE and that it points your eyes to your heavenly Father. Today I’ll be sharing a song, a quote, and some Scripture verses that all point to the hope found only in God.

Before I get started, though–a big thanks to SawyerMarie and Abby Elissa for all the effort they’ve put into making this tour a reality (and thank you for letting me be a part of it!). 🙂

Our Hiding Place

At some point in each of our lives, things happen that remind us we’re not in control–no matter how much we might want to believe differently! And it’s often not easy to accept the fact. We want to be able to make things right, to do things through our own strength, to protect those we love, to make things happen according to our plans and timing, or to come up with the answers to everyone’s problems.

But at the end of the day–and despite our best efforts–we are left with an uncomfortable reality. We’re not in control. Our own strength is never truly enough. We constantly fail. We can’t always be there when we need to be for those who depend on us. And we don’t always have the answers ourselves or others need. And just where is the hope in all of that, you might ask?!

Well, I’m grateful that is not all there is to the story. 🙂 You see, there is a beauty that’s only found when we realise we aren’t in control. That we don’t have to rely on ourselves. There is One who is so much wiser and mightier than us. We have a hiding place to run to during all of life’s uncertainties. And this knowledge gives us the peace, the strength, and the hope that we long for! 😀 And so in the end, it’s a beautiful story.

This song is full of hope! It’s a reminder that God is indeed our hiding place. The lyrics are based on a verse from Psalm 32, and it’s been a favourite of mine recently.

“Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.”

Psalm 32:7

There are multiple other verses throughout the Scriptures that describe God as being our refuge and hiding place.

Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word. Psalm 119:114

Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings. Psalm 17:8

For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion: in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me; He shall set me up upon a rock. Psalm 27:5

When we find our refuge in God, we have hope–true hope!

As long as we have God, we have HOPE.

And now I hope you’ve stuck around for the tour giveaway! It’s open to international entries as well. So feel free to enter, no matter where you live. 😀 If you live in the USA, the prize is a devotional and stationary set (international winners will receive an ebook copy of the devotional instead).

And don’t forget to take a peek at some of the other bloggers’ posts! You can find them below. 😉

May you rest in God’s plan for your life and be filled with the perfect hope that He is always in control.
