This month I have the honour of participating in a pro-life blog tour co-hosted by authors Erika Matthews and Ryana Lynn (Miller) Peterson. So today, I have a pro-life post for you! And later in the month, I’ll be sharing info on their new pro-life novels (as well a fun author interview and a book review). So stay tuned! 😀
But for now, I want to raise my voice for the unborn.
As I was thinking about doing this post, I felt a little unsure how to begin. After all, it’s such a huge and important issue–but what exactly should I say? So I’m going to start by saying this:
I hate abortion because it dishonours God and because of the terrible consequences for the mother and unborn child. With abortion, there’s always more than one victim. 🙁
“So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.”
Genesis 1:27
Unfortunately, it’s also so easy to become complacent–even if we hate abortion. It’s easy not to want to think about how many lives are snuffed out by abortion. To get used to it. To forget about it. Or to think there’s nothing we can do.
But I don’t think any of those things are good enough reasons/excuses to turn a blind eye.

At the same time, I have to admit that even as I’m writing this post, it still does seem hard to make a difference.
What can we do to save these precious lives?
But perhaps the first step is as “simple” as remembering to pray for mothers who find themselves in difficult situations. For the staff at Planned Parenthood (because people can and do change!). For people who have a survived. For the mothers who’ve had an abortion–that they would repent and have the courage to speak out. And for the tiny unborn babies themselves who are so vulnerable and undervalued.
We can’t put a stop to all the abortions. But perhaps we can make a difference in one life or situation. And every life counts.

We don’t have the right to choose when a life counts as a life.
Every life has God-given potential! Every life is precious no matter the circumstances! So be courageous and choose life!
“For Thou hast possessed my reins: Thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are Thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” Psalm 139:13-14
I think it would be remiss of me to finish this post without mentioning forgiveness. 🙂
“Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with Him is plenteous redemption.” Psalm 130:7
While this verse specifically mentions Israel–God is the same yesterday, today, and forever! We can find rest in knowing that with the LORD there is mercy and plenteous redemption.
May God give us each the strength to love and show God’s mercy to others–and to trust in God’s forgiveness.
If you stand for life–why not join us and share a pro-life post on your blog, facebook, instagram . . . One post can make a difference in someone’s life!

I really loved that song. A little lump raises in your throat when you think of the thousands of babies murdered. Each baby brings so much love with it if only we give them a chance to. Each little one created in the image of God has a purpose.
