I saw this tag over on Abigail Harris’s Blog and decided to give it a go! A little scary seeing what part of my unedited manuscript it was going to end up on!! 😉
Here are the Tag Rules:
1. Open your WIP to the seventh page.
2. Scroll past the seventh line.
3. Copy the next seven paragraphs and paste them on your blog for THE WORLD to read.
4. Tag seven people.
The excerpt is from Book 2 of The JOY Series. 😀
Without wasting time, they gathered what Aiden could remember. Every time Aiden named something they weren’t growing, Jayne tried to replace it with something she felt was a fair substitute.
As Aiden placed a zucchini in the basket, a slight smile crossed his face. “That’s it.”
Aiden surveyed the garden, then screwed his eyes shut. Jayne could nearly picture him and Imogen huddled on the ground, shivering and crunching down the vegetables with their arms around each other. When Aiden opened his eyes, he saw Jayne’s smile.
His eyes searched her face. “What are you smiling at?”
Jayne shook her head and refused to tell him. Instead she leaned down and plucked two round cabbages from the ground. “We’ll give them these too.” As Aiden stepped away, she murmured to herself. “Perhaps it will help the recipient be more understanding.”
A sigh escaped her lips. She hadn’t felt like breakfast this morning. But she’d forced it down to keep Aiden from suspecting her feelings. Every time she thought of the day’s mission, a knot of worms seemed to wiggle around her insides. It was most uncomfortable.
So there you have it!! 😉 Hope you enjoyed this little glimpse of my first draft writing. The question is . . . how much of this scene will find its way into the published book?! 😀
If you’re a writer and have a blog, considered yourself tagged! 😉
Who’s already read Book 1? Are you looking forward to reading the next book?! 😀 😀
