The LORD is my . . .

My sisters put together a list of Scripture verses that demonstrate the greatness and goodness of God as an encouragement for someone. When I saw it, I knew I had to include it in a post 😀

So here’s the list! And don’t forget to pay extra attention to the words in bold! 🙂

“The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.” Psalm 28:7

“O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker.” Psalm 95:6

“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1

“To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.” Psalm 92:15

“For thou art my hope, O Lord God: thou art my trust from my youth.” Psalm 71:5

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1

“In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, The Lord Our Righteousness.” Jeremiah 23:6

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Psalm 23:1

“The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge; My savior, You save me from violence.” 2 Samuel 22:2

“Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.” Psalm 5:2

I don’t know about you, but reading that list makes me feel pretty blessed—in awe of all that our Heavenly Father is for us! How privileged we are to be able to rest in God’s goodness, power, and love.

God in His abundant goodness is our:

  • Strength
  • Shield
  • Maker
  • Light
  • Salvation
  • Rock
  • Hope
  • Trust
  • Refuge
  • Help
  • Righteousness
  • Shepherd
  • Fortress
  • Deliverer
  • Stronghold
  • Saviour
  • King
  • God

And one other thing that isn’t mentioned in those verses is that God is our Father. How undeserving (and blessed!) we are to be called children of the Most High.

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God . . .

1 John 3:1

So whatever is going on around you in the world, take heart! God is our Deliver, our Rock, our Shield. 😀

Thank you for sharing these encouraging verses! I really appreciate the use of the King James Bible; it is hard to find that on blogs these days.
I discovered your website the other day, and I really like it! Is your first book published? And if so, where can I find it?

    In Christ,
    Leona

Hi Leona! I’m so glad you discovered my website! I’ve actually been on your book review site before in my search for conservative review websites, and I so appreciate that you are striving to honour God with what you read! 🙂
Thank you for your kind words! 😀 Jayne’s Endeavour isn’t quite out yet, but it will be soon! I’ve just finished working with my editor. When it’s released, it’ll be available on my website and other sites like Amazon! God bless! 😀
